Altijd al je eigen cyanotypies of blauwdrukken willen leren maken? Ik had al jaren een kit in een kast liggen, maar ben er nooit aan begonnen. Om de een of andere reden voelde het intimiderend.

Maar nu experimenteer ik met wat er in mijn tuin of schuur te vinden is, want het is magisch wat er gebeurt als je ontwikkelt. Bovendien is het helemaal niet giftig en een van de oudste fotografische technieken. Dus doe mee aan een van de sessies van drie uur met maximaal vijf personen, direct in mijn studio nabij het prachtige Waterland, ten noorden van Amsterdam.

Nieuwe kerstkaarten

Mooier dan ooit en nog mooiere kwaliteit

Dit jaar zijn ze van een hogere kwaliteit, gemaakt van zwaarder papier en worden ze geleverd in een klein doosje in plaats van een envelop, zodat ze ook direct als cadeau kunnen worden verzonden als dat nodig is. Vanwege een kunstenaarsresidentie ben ik van 18 november tot 3 december het land uit (lucky me). Bij terugkomst verstuur ik eerst de sinterklaascadeautjes en op 5 december deze nieuwe beauty's.

Deze kaarten zijn gemaakt van analoge zelfontwikkelde foto's, gedrukt op dik Biopuur papier. Geen enkele, maar dubbele kaarten voor meer schrijfruimte, en ze worden geleverd met enveloppen van gerecycled papier. Een set van vijf unieke foto's in een beperkte oplage. Als ze allemaal op zijn, zijn ze voor altijd weg. En denk eens aan de persoon die zo'n mooie kaart zal ontvangen. Of wil je ze liever zelf houden?

Deze juweeltjes zijn enkele van jullie favoriete beelden op Instagram van het afgelopen jaar. Ze verdienden een eigen kaart nodig zodat er nog meer mensen van kunnen genieten, dus presenteer ik met trots de nieuwe luxe set van dubbele dikke Biopuur papieren kunstkaarten inclusief enveloppen van kraftpapier. Nu in het winkeltje!

Nieuw: cyanotype kits toegevoegd aan de winkel

Janet en ik hebben elkaar lang geleden al ontmoet en ze heeft me in het verleden vertegenwoordigd in haar galerie. Ze richt zich nu op de verkoop van cyanotypekits en ik zal haar kits vanaf nu hier verkopen. Ik heb workshops gegeven aan kinderen, maar zal dat in de toekomst uitbreiden naar volwassenen. Binnenkort meer info. 

Nu terug naar de kits, er zijn twee kits: een kleine en een grote. Een kleine met A6-papier op briefkaartformaat en al het gereedschap dat je nodig hebt (zoals een sponskwast, maatbeker, mengstaaf, handschoenen etc.) en natuurlijk hele duidelijke instructies. Het grote formaat wordt geleverd met A5-papier, meer chemicaliën, grotere gereedschappen en ook vellen om je eigen digitale negatieven te maken. Beide kits hebben genoeg chemicaliën om ook andere papiersoorten te gebruiken, dus gebruik alleen kleine hoeveelheden en voeg de oplossingen alleen samen met de hoeveelheid die je op dat moment nodig hebt. De losse oplossingen kun je ongelooflijk lang koel en donker bewaren.

Kleine cyanotypes in lijst

Handgemaakt cyanotypeprint in klein wit lijstje

Deze kleine 15x10 prints zijn gemaakt in de tuin met zonlicht en ingelijst in kleine witte houten lijstjes die verpakt zijn zoals op de middelste afbeelding hieronder. Dit prachtige kleine kunstwerkje is het perfecte cadeau en kan direct worden verzonden naar wie je maar wilt door zijn/haar adres in te vullen tijdens het afrekenen. Je kunt een bericht achterlaten in het opmerkingenveld als je wilt dat de geadresseerde een bericht ontvangt.

Altijd de cover van een magazine willen hebben?

Nou, dat kan eindelijk. Dit is de cover van Pf-magazine van zomer 2023 (het belangrijkste tijdschrift over creatieve fotografie in Nederland), met daarin 6 pagina's met foto's en een interview over mijn werk en proces. 

Het is al jaren een droom van me om naar Canada te reizen om daar samen te werken met de lokale bevolking aan natuurprojecten en ook om iets te brengen door workshops te geven tijdens mijn verblijf, hopelijk in 2024. Deze foto is gemaakt tijdens mijn verblijf in Zwitserland in 2022, waar ik ook samen met de lokale bevolking en de gemeente werk aan waterkwaliteit, gifstoffen en initiatieven om de effecten van klimaatverandering te veranderen. Een vergelijkbaar project als ik in Canada zou willen doen.

23 & 24 april Buy My Darlings

Buy my darlings is a small fair in the weekend of 23 and 24 april where photographers sell their artworks directly to their fans. I will introduce my new cards there, and of course some prints are for sale. 


Come and say hi, it costs nothing and the top of the Dutch photography world will be there!  ( From 11AM till 5PM, NDSM-plein 29 in Amsterdam, 15 minutes by ferry from Amsterdan Central Station or parking at the location for 1,40 per hour)

Romantic cards





I made three cards with the idea of touch and smell and with a light reference to modern emoticons. You can find them in my store. As always shot on Kodak Ektar with an old Minolta camera.

Besides this lovely image there is also an image of wild peaches (derived from the word Persia) and one with a shell and a feather that I found here in the garden. 

This time the cards are a bit cheaper than normal because these are almost gone. So only 14 euro for 3 double cards printed on bio-top paper with kraft paper envelopes.

Color Explosion: a new set of cards

I selected a new set of cards  with loads of reds and pinks, called Color Explosion. Also referring to the time of year where all of a sudden everything bursts of life. As with all images, shot on analog film mostly with the  X700.


Birthday or present for someone?
All the card sets are wrapped so you can give them as a present to someone. You can send them also directly as a gift: add the name and address of the lucky gal or fella when checking out and put a message in the notes field. I will add a handwritten card with your message.

During the exhibition of my work at Rietveld Paviljoen in Amersfoort you can also buy them in the gallery till end of August!   

Trying to be as gorgeous to the planet as well. All sustainable in recycled materials and avoiding use of plastics and limited editions. Will never produce more than 50 cards of the same image.

Whether it is a gift for Christmas, a birthday, or any other occasion, you can find it here in my modest shop with new additions every month. All photographed, printed or painted by myself by hand here in the garden. 

I live as sustainable as possible and therefore will avoid using any plastics. Your print will be sent in strong recycled paper envelops and sealed with paper tape.

What you buy

I work with old cameras, like the Nikkormat FTS2 or the 1992 Minolta Dynax 9xi. Once the Ektar films are developed, I scan the film and remove dust particles. The last step is to enhance the photos in the digital darkroom. 

In the prints, there might be hardly noticeable traces of the analog process, which adds to the beauty of working in the old way. This gives a unique feeling to the images, so you experience the traditional craft of photography.

How it all started

In March of this year, we went to lock-down. With no place to live after my divorce last year, I was stuck in my garden. Only occasionally seeing my 7-year old daughter and my ex-husband, it felt quite lonely at times. There was only one thing to do, make the most of my garden.  

I started growing plants from seeds and later in the year vegetables. But of course, that didn't provide an income with all my assignments as an artist/photographer canceled.

Although having photographed flowers and plants all my life, it only then struck me that I could make my garden the starting point of something new. I was looking and contemplating for weeks on possible solutions, and all of a sudden realized, my garden is my passion. I was standing on top of it for years but had completely missed it.

So this is all brand new to me, and just starting. If you have any questions or comments, also on my gardening skills, you are very welcome to send them. The images may look good, but I am still an amateur in gardening.
